Indices

API TraderAPI QuantAPI Developer

Every market index you can use as a stock set on the bulk endpoints, with the identifier you pass as their index parameter. Start here when you want a whole index in one call and need to know how to name it.

Only indices that resolve to a constituent list today are listed, so every entry is one you can actually query.

Available Data Points:

  • Identifier: The ORTEX index identifier: the value the bulk endpoints take as index.
  • Name: The index's name at ORTEX.
  • Country: The country the index covers, as an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code; null for a regional or global index.
  • Constituent Count: How many listings the constituents endpoint returns for the index today.
  • As Of: The date the current constituent list took effect (YYYY-MM-DD); null when it is not recorded.

Constituents

The listings themselves, with their identifiers, are on the constituents bulk endpoint: /api/v11/bulk/reference/constituents/?index={identifier}. Give it a date for the membership on that day.

Ordering

Returned in identifier order. Matching on identifier ignores case.

Try it out! You can test the API with the trial key TEST. Simply include it in your request headers; either here, or add the header "Ortex-Api-Key": "TEST" to your http request.

Trial key restrictions: Trial keys may be limited to a specific date range and set of regions. Requests outside the allowed regions or entirely outside the allowed date range are rejected; a date window that partially overlaps the allowed range is trimmed to it, reported in meta.restriction.
