Stock Scores Weights

Every metric you can pass in the Stock Scores weights parameter, grouped by the family it feeds, with what each one ranks and how a custom weight set is scored.

The weights parameter on the Stock Scores endpoints lets you score with your own weight set instead of ORTEX's standard one. This page lists every metric you can weight, grouped by the family it feeds.

How weights work

  • Pass a comma-separated list of metric:weight pairs, for example weights=quality:50,momentum:65,roa:100. Metric names are lower case.
  • Family keys (growth, momentum, quality, value) scale a whole family in the total score. A family key you leave out keeps its standard weight, and a family key on its own changes nothing: at least one metric must be weighted above 0.
  • Metrics are weighted within their family. Any metric you leave out is weighted 0, so a custom set scores only on the metrics you name.
  • Every metric is a percentile rank from 0 to 100 against the whole covered universe, oriented so that a higher rank adds to its family's score (for the valuation ratios, higher means cheaper).

For example, weights=quality:100,roa:100,z_last:50 scores Quality on return on assets and the Altman Z-score only, with Quality at full weight in the total. The other three families name no metrics, so they score 0 and pull the total down with them; name metrics in every family you want counted.
