Bonds and Credit Data
A company's bonds, how they are rated and how expensive they are to borrow.
A company's debt says as much about it as its share price. ORTEX holds over 2.2 million live bonds with an ISIN from 54,000 issuers in 177 countries, and ties over 1.6 million of them to a listed company ORTEX covers, so a finance subsidiary's bonds roll up to the listed parent. On top sit credit ratings and their history, daily securities lending from 2012, estimated bond short interest, US fund holders and ECB collateral status. Every term names the source it came from, and a term ORTEX cannot source stays empty rather than guessed.

What you can do with it
- Credit next to equity. See a company's bonds, maturity wall, ratings and rating changes alongside its stock, with finance subsidiaries rolled up to the listed parent.
- Lending and positioning. Daily value on loan, utilization and loan fees for every bond on loan, with estimated short interest and a flag for bonds that are expensive and in demand to borrow.
- A sourced bond master. Terms for live bonds, each with the source it came from, pulled incrementally by updated time, so you can see why a value is what it is.
Every bond, tied to its company
Terms, ratings, lending, holders and central bank status on one record per bond, linked to the issuer and the listed company behind it.
- Bond master. Over 2.2 million live bonds with an ISIN from 54,000 issuers. Over 1.6 million are tied to one of almost 12,000 listed companies, through the issuer or its consolidation parent.
- Terms, with sources. Coupon on 1.6 million live bonds and maturity on 2 million. Amount issued on 190,000, the bonds traded on European venues and those read from their documents. Every term carries its source.
- Read from the offering documents. Over 12,000 of the largest listed-company bonds read in full: frequency, day count, seniority, call and put schedules, make-whole. A term is stored only when the quoted text is found in the document and, on a multi-tranche deal, shown to belong to this bond's tranche.
- Credit ratings. About 1.4 million instrument ratings on record, over 600,000 of them current, covering over 126,000 live bonds, and over 10 million rating actions from the EU regulatory rating platform.
- Lending and short interest. Daily from 2012: value on loan, utilization, loan fees and a special flag, about 31,000 bonds on the latest day. Estimated short interest is the share of the issue on loan; not every loan is a short.
- Holders and central banks. Which US registered funds hold over 41,000 bonds and how much, quarterly, from public fund filings; ECB eligibility with the haircut on 22,000 bonds, and Eurosystem holdings.

Why ORTEX
Bonds are linked to the same companies as every other ORTEX dataset, so a company's debt, its ratings and the cost of borrowing its bonds sit next to its short interest, fundamentals and prices. Every term records where it came from, and terms read from offering documents are kept only when the quoted text backs them up.
