API TraderAPI QuantAPI Developer
API to retrieve a typed corporate-actions event timeline for a given ticker on a given exchange.
This API merges every corporate-action family ORTEX tracks into one feed, sorted by event date (most recent first): stock splits (with lifecycle dates and ratio), dividends (including specials), M&A deals, spin-offs, buyback programs, index constituent changes, and lock-up expiries. Announced future events are included, so upcoming ex-dates appear alongside the historical record.
Available Data Points:
- Date: The event date (
YYYY-MM-DDformat) — the ex-date for splits and dividends. - Action Type: The event family:
split,dividend,deal,spinoff,buyback,index_change, orlockup_expiry. - Description: The event headline, for deal, spin-off, buyback, index-change and lock-up events.
- Announced Date: The date the action was announced, where reported.
- Ex Date: The ex-date of a split or dividend — the first trading day the action takes effect.
- Record Date: The record date of a split or dividend, where reported.
- Pay Date: The pay/distribution date of a split or dividend, where reported.
- Ratio: The split multiplication factor (e.g. 2 for a 2:1 forward split, 0.1 for a 1:10 reverse split).
- Is Forward: Whether a split is forward (increasing share count) or reverse.
- Amount: The declared dividend amount per share, in the payment currency.
- Currency: The ISO code of the dividend payment currency.
- Is Special: Whether the dividend is a special (non-regular) distribution.
Filtering
Use from_date and to_date to bound the event-date window, and types to select a comma-separated subset of action types (e.g. types=split, dividend). When no dates are supplied the full history is returned, including announced future events. Results are ordered by event date, most recent (or furthest upcoming) first.
Try it out! You can test the API with the trial key TEST. Simply include it in your request headers; either here, or add the header "Ortex-Api-Key": "TEST" to your http request.
Trial key restrictions: Trial keys may be limited to a specific date range and set of regions. Requests outside the allowed regions or entirely outside the allowed date range are rejected; a date window that partially overlaps the allowed range is trimmed to it, reported in meta.restriction.
